My Journey to 100 Days to Amazing-Day 2

amazing 2I was at the Shaklee Global Conference August 12-16th and we were challenged to 100 Days of Amazing with the question of what could we accomplish in 100 days if we really tried?  I was inspired by the challenge, both as a business builder who wants to grow my business in 100 days and as an individual!  What could I do in 100 days?

My Journey to Amazing: My 100 Days to Amazing are committed to making a more successful business as a Shaklee Independent Distributor and I am also committed to 100 days to amazing health and fitness. I want to be fit for my future making sure that my health span matches my life span as closely as possible.  This is my Journey.

How Day 1 went:

Do you ever feel like you need a vacation to recover from your vacation?  Boy, I do!  Aside from the mountain of laundry and the fact that the house always looks like our belongings vomited all over our house upon return of any trip there is the tiredness that hits me.  Yesterday I could have put on soft clothes, grabbed my quilt and snuggled in for the day, BUT I didn’t!  I did take a little down time here and there because it is important to listen to your body, but sometimes my body lies!   Like “You shouldn’t exercise today, you need your rest”  or “That pie is practically a vegetable!”

Yesterday I made a commitment:

a. A pledge or obligation, as to follow a certain course of action: a public official’s commitment to uphold the Constitution.
b. Something pledged, especially an engagement by contract involving financial obligation.
3. The state of being emotionally or intellectually devoted, as to a belief, a course of action, or another person: a profound commitment to the family.
I made a decision to follow certain (a.) courses of action to change my life! I (b). pledged to myself and you to walk out my 100 days, and I became (c.) emotionally and intellectually devoted to my course of action and belief that I can achieve great things in 100 days!  As a result I pushed through my laziness and fear yesterday to begin. I didn’t always  want to, but then that is the point isn’t it?  They say that courage isn’t courage unless you overcome a fear, otherwise courage isn’t needed.  Resolve and unction are the same as courage, unless I face my own stubbornness, laziness, fear, and apathy I have no need for resolve or unction.  Pushing through is in itself a step towards amazing and we do it one step at a time.  I have always held the firm belief that the anticipation of doing something is far more difficult than the actual doing!  The key is to begin!

So, how did it go you ask?  I began!

Goal one, my Shaklee Business:  I started a plan of action to build my business.  I set up a home office, watched the new videos from Shaklee, watched tutorials on doing facebook parties – party soon to come!  I set up a “Healthy Home Party”, followed up with some customers and set up my twitter posts for the week.   Today I will create an email campaign, postcard announcing the new products, organize my contacts, and make a few phone calls.  I hate phone calls!  I would use text and email everyday forever, so this one is a big deal for me!

Goal two, my health and fitness: I have always loved health and fitness even though I have not always followed what I know to be true.  It excites me to see how our bodies work and excites me to feel that we can help our bodies work at its best.  To me it is a little bit of love!  To show love to myself I want to put good foods into my body, safe products on my body, stretch, build muscle, train balance, and keep moving so that I can be my best version of myself.  While it excites me, I admit I often have a fairly apathetic attitude.  I believe you spell that “Meh”!

As I mentioned, I’m pretty tired from my vacation and it was a challenge to get up and get moving, but I did it!  Yesterday I did some Tai Chi; the movements are gentle on my knees, yet build strength and stamina.  I also did some squats, crunches, push-ups (on my knees, but hey, it’s a start), and some v-sit twists-ugh.  I ate well, mostly, and started looking for recipes that follow the eating of the “Blue Zones”, which are parts of the world that have been found to have unusual health and longevity.   Today I will continue to look at recipes and make menus for the rest of the week and will do some yoga and aerobic exercise.  I also plan to spend some time in prayer and making sure my spiritual self is fit as well!  And of course I will Strip and Shake daily and Blog.

Tomorrow let’s talk about happiness and our attitude.  Shawn Achor spoke at the Shaklee conference.  He was really fantastic and his talk was very thought provoking.  To get you ready for it watch his Ted Talk, one of the top 10 most popular Ted Talks.

100 Days to Amazing!  You can do amazing things. I believe you can; you believe you can too!
