 Today’s tip for Amazingness:

The Library of our Lives

I often imagine life to be like a vast library, one in which resides the many stories of our lives as well as spaces for the yet to be written tales. In my library there is every genre; Romance, Mystery, Horror, Short stories, Adventure and more. Some I loved and others I hated, but I keep them on my shelves because they are part of who I am. The important thing is that I have learned that once that book is finished there is no need to go back to if unless I want to, I do not have to be haunted by the horror stories or plagued by the books with poor plots, flawed story lines etc. I have closed the book and I am done with it and it will stay on my shelf taking the space it was written for, but I will let the cobwebs grow there. It’s OK, I’m done with it.

Some of the books I love to visit and remember.  I run my finger down their spines lovingly, I pull it down and smell the pages before I look at it again.  It is a special moment. These are good books. But, I keep them all.

There is a special book that I keep plot ideas in: dreams, hopes for the future, etc.  I visit this book for inspiration and to help me so that I don’t forget that life isn’t over yet. I use this book to remind me that there are more “stories” to be written, more books to come.  It is an exciting book and every time I look at it there are new things written in it.  It is important to remember to visit this book often if I wish to completely fill the shelves of my library.  Sometimes I forget about this book and I find that life becomes mundane or mediocre, then I visit my library and I’m inspired to live again and let the books be written!

I encourage you to visit your library from time to time.  Don’t be afraid of things like the horror books, you already know how it ended and it’s ok to read the last page before looking at the beginning again, and really it’s ok if you never pick up that book again as long as you remember that healthy lessons that can be pulled from them, but don’t try to destroy those books. Remember that even those books are a part of who you are and who you are is a good thing!  Maybe you need a few self helps books, that’s ok-add them in.  You won’t run out of space on your shelves.

What is on your shelves?  Are there a lot of music books?  Photography?  Maybe Football? Math? Embrace them, they are part of you and as Dr. Seuss says “Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!”.   So see? You are the best you you can be!

Monday & Thursday: Upper

Tuesday & Friday: Core

Wednesday & Saturday: Lower

I also add in Yoga and Tai Chi and Dolphin Pushups -oof and walking!

What the 100 Days is about:

I was at the Shaklee Global Conference August 12-16th and we were challenged to 100 Days of Amazing with the question of what could we accomplish in 100 days if we really tried?  I was inspired by the challenge, both as a business builder who wants to grow my business in 100 days and as an individual!  What could I do in 100 days? This blog is a journey, an exercise in learning ways to be the best me, I can be and to help you be the best you, you can be while I’m at it!
